Meet Kim
Conservative Leadership for a Bright Future
Kim has a long history of community service, strengthening our county through leadership roles with C.A.R.E., the VBA Community Care Clinic, Charlotte Preparatory, and the Charlotte Local Education Foundation. She has also led youth development programs, serving as Punta Gorda YMCA Board Chair and Girls on the Run Program Coordinator.
A recognized leader in education policy, Kim chaired the Legislative Subcommittee of the Florida School Boards Association (2022-2023) and now serves as Vice President, fighting for curriculum transparency, parental rights, and keeping political agendas out of the classroom. Her dedication has earned her numerous awards, including the Yellow Rose Award, Woman of Distinction, and Champion of Youth Award.
As our County Commissioner, Kim will fight for lower taxes, streamline local government to reduce bureaucratic inefficiencies, protect our water quality, and champion term limits to end career politicians’ grip on power.
A proud Charlotte County resident for 34 years, Kim and her husband, Jim, raised their three children here. She is committed to defending conservative values—limited government, family, and faith—while ensuring Charlotte County remains the best place to live, work, and raise a family.
Kim Amontree is a proven conservative leader committed to individual liberty, fiscal responsibility, and protecting the values that make Charlotte County strong. Now, she’s running for the Charlotte County Commission to put her principles and experience to work for a brighter future for our community.
Since her election to the Charlotte County School Board in 2016, Kim has been a steadfast advocate for local control, responsible spending, and accountability in education, ensuring that schools prioritize students—not bureaucracy. Under her leadership, the district successfully lowered tax rates while increasing emergency reserve funds, demonstrating her commitment to fiscal responsibility without sacrificing essential services.
As a successful businesswoman, Kim brings nearly 30 years of experience in banking and healthcare management, including founding the Charlotte Surgery Center. Her efficient fiscal management created jobs and expanded access to healthcare for Charlotte County residents, proving that conservative leadership works.
Kim earned a Bachelor of Science in Business from the University of Colorado and a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in finance from the University of South Florida. Her financial expertise has been instrumental in managing budgets, cutting waste, and driving economic growth.
